Recently, the caustic soda market has witnessed moderate supply and demand in Gansu. While the mainstream ex-factory price was 4000 yuan/ton (price 100% consistency) for 32%-concentrated liquid caustic soda and was 4200 yuan/ton for liquid alkali with a concentration of 50%, low-end prices sometimes emerged in the transaction market. At present, some local caustic soda units are shut down for maintenance, leaving the output at a low level and supply-demand pattern tightened. At the same time, downstream sectors such as chemical synthesis operate weakly and steadily, not likely to hoard a large stock of goods in trucks. Accompanied by the transaction price declining of caustic soda, sales have slowed down in the region.
