At this stage, as the mainstream ex-factory price of local first-class calcium carbide is between 3250-3300 yuan/ton, individual orders have been made at an adjusted price in actual transactions. For downstream PVC production enterprises, they have become less active in production due to a series of factors such as significant pressure from their own costs and inventory, the market decline of caustic soda related products, as well as the decreasing demand and consumption of calcium carbide as a result of a large stockpile of goods hoarded in trucks among the majority of PVC producers. All in all, it is difficult to be optimistic about the local calcium carbide market in the short term.
