On April 26th, Wanhua Chemical released a public announcement on the completion and commissioning of environmental protection facilities for the 1.8 million ton MDI technical renovation and 180,000 ton hexanediamine project.
Approval status of environmental impact assessment for this project: The Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment approved this project on September 29, 2022 with the document Yonghuan Jian [2022] No. 22. This project started construction on September 30, 2022 and was completed in April 2024. The commissioning period is from April 26, 2024 to July 26, 2024.

On July 25, 2022, the groundbreaking ceremony for the annual production of 180,000 tons of hexanediamine by Huashen New Materials (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. was held in Wanhua Ningbo Industrial Park.
On May 17, 2022, the environmental impact assessments of Wanhua Chemical (Ningbo) Co., Ltd.¡äs 1.8 million ton/year MDI technology renovation project and 180,000 ton/year hexanediamine project were first publicly announced.

Project investment: The total investment for the annual production of 1.8 million tons of MDI technology renovation project is about 950 million yuan, and the total investment for the 180,000 tons/year of hexanediamine project is about 890 million yuan

Construction content: Technological transformation of the existing MDI device to increase the total production capacity of the MDI device to 1.8 million tons per year; Build a new 280,000 ton/year modified MDI device; Build a new 180,000 ton/year hexanediamine plant; Renovation of 120,000 tons/year hydrogen chloride oxidation plant (Sumitomo Technology) to 240000 tons/year hydrogen chloride oxidation plant (Wanhua self-developed technology); Simultaneously carry out technical renovations on existing gas production equipment in the factory to meet the production capacity requirements of MDI equipment.
