Project Progress on Goldwind Science & Technology¡äs Wind Power Coupled Green Methanol
2024-4-25
On April 18th, the construction of Goldwind Science & Technology¡äs 500,000-ton green methanol production project, which utilizes wind power in Xing¡äan League, Inner Mongolia, officially kicked off, marking the entry into the construction phase of the project.
It is reported that in November 2023, Goldwind Science & Technology signed a long-term green methanol procurement agreement with the world¡äs shipping giant A.P. Moller - Maersk to produce 500,000 tons of green methanol annually, supporting the low-carbon operation of Maersk¡äs first batch of 12 large methanol dual-power ships. The first production is expected to be achieved in 2026. This agreement is the first large-scale green methanol procurement agreement in the global shipping industry, with a validity period lasting until after 2030. The methanol production under the agreement includes green biomass methanol and electricity-produced methanol, which will be produced at Goldwind Science & Technology¡äs 500,000-ton green methanol production project in Xing¡äan League, realizing the green closed loop of using green power to produce green fuels and supporting the development of green shipping.
The project covers an area of over 1,800 mu. After the completion and commissioning of all facilities, it will produce 500,000 tons of green methanol annually, becoming a modern green methanol manufacturing base with leading technology, complete equipment, and significant benefits.
