On April 18, 2024, another green hydrogen project in Inner Mongolia, the "Beijing Energy Coal Chemical Renewable Energy Green Hydrogen Replacement Demonstration Project" implemented by Beijing Energy Group, officially started construction. At the same time, a grand groundbreaking ceremony was held, with local party and government officials and relevant department heads attending.

With a total investment of 3.6 billion yuan, this project is a large-scale off grid wind power hydrogen production demonstration project. The project aims to build one 500, 000 kilowatt wind farm, as well as a production line and energy storage facility capable of producing 26,000 tons of green hydrogen annually.

After put into operation, the project can consume 1.2 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, with an annual output value of 420 million yuan. At the same time, it can save 470,000 tons of standard coal annually, reduce 1.22 million tons of carbon dioxide, and 11,000 tons of sulfur dioxide.

The green hydrogen produced by this project will be used as raw material for the new green methanol plant of Xing′an League Boyuan Chemical Co., Ltd., another local chemical project.
