On May 26, the Wuhai low-carbon industrial park natural gas gate station pure hydrogen blending technology improvement project, a major scientific and technological project in Inner Mongolia, completed the debugging and testing of the pure hydrogen pipeline and the natural gas hydrogen blending comprehensive test platform, which now has the conditions for testing and normal production operations.
The medium-low pressure hydrogen blending demonstration project is an important part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region¡äs major scientific and technological project, "R&D of Key Technologies for the Transportation and Application of Medium-low Pressure Pure Hydrogen and Hydrogen-blended Gas Pipelines". The project, led by Wuhai Kaijie Gas Co., Ltd., was jointly undertaken by nine universities such as University of Science and Technology Beijing and China University of Petroleum (Beijing), as well as research institutions such as Anke Engineering Technology Research Institute, with five subprojects.
This project serves as an important bridge from hydrogen production technology to its end-use applications. The total hydrogen blending scale of the test platform is 500Nm³/h, with a maximum hydrogen blending ratio of 20%, covering the entire pressure operating range of urban gas.
After the implementation of the project, it will provide an experimental platform and application scenarios for the R&D of key technologies for the transportation and application of medium-low pressure pure hydrogen and hydrogen-blended gas pipelines, providing a strong test basis for the transportation of natural gas blended with hydrogen. It will help solve technical challenges in material safety, transportation processes, and key equipment in the transportation and large-scale application of medium-low pressure pure hydrogen and hydrogen-blended gas, forming common key technologies and demonstration applications.
