Jiangxi Liwen Plans to Increase the Production of 1,000 tons of High-purity Octafluorocyclobutane

2024-5-31

On May 8th, the People¡äs Government of Ruichang City released the first environmental impact assessment announcement for the environmental protection and technological upgrading project of methane chlorides and the technical upgrading project of 10,000 tons/year of hexafluoropropene production unit with 1,000 tons/year of high-purity octafluorocyclobutane co-production by Jiangxi Liwen Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

Contents and Scale of Construction: In order to ensure the safe and environmentally friendly disposal of carbon tetrachloride and enhance the company¡äs comprehensive market competitiveness, the methane chloride production line will be upgraded in terms of environmental protection, with the disposal of carbon tetrachloride changed from chloroform conversion to tetrachloroethylene conversion. A set of carbon tetrachloride to tetrachloroethylene conversion unit will be built, and the original carbon tetrachloride to chloroform conversion unit will be shut down after the tetrachloroethylene unit is put into operation. Two hexafluoropropene production units in the existing "Organic Fluorine Chemical Series (Phase II) Product Structure Adjustment Project" (with a capacity of 3,200 t/a for the first-phase unit and 6,800 t/a for the second-phase unit) will be technically upgraded to a 10,000 tons/year hexafluoropropene production unit with 1,000 tons/year of high-purity octafluorocyclobutane co-production (with a capacity of 320 tons/year for the first-phase unit and 680 tons/year for the second-phase unit).
