Guangdong Meilian¡äs 200,000 Tons of Titanium Dioxide and Other Projects Started Recently

On May 6, the Guangdong Meilian new energy and polymer material industrialization construction project started in Xuanhan County, Dazhou City. The project is in Puguang Chemical Industry Park, with a total planned investment of 10 billion yuan, aiming to build a circular economy industrial chain for the comprehensive utilization of sulfur-color masterbatch-new energy materials. The project is planned to be constructed in three phases. The first phase is planned to invest 3.05 billion yuan. After completion, it will be able to produce 800,000 tons of sulfuric acid, 200,000 tons of titanium dioxide, 300,000 tons of color masterbatch (special colorants for new polymer materials), and 100,000 tons of water treatment agents annually. The planned construction period is 18 months.
It is understood that the entire construction content of the Guangdong Meilian new energy polymer material industrialization construction project includes: a sulfuric acid plant with an annual production capacity of 2.1 million tons, a titanium dioxide plant with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons, a high-end plastic color masterbatch production line with an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons, a ferrous sulfate production line with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million tons, and a power lithium battery separator production line with an annual production capacity of 1.5 billion square meters.
According to the data, Xuanhan County is rich in mineral resources, with a prospective natural gas reserve of 1.5 trillion cubic meters. It has the world¡äs first marine lithium-rich potassium resource mine, with a lithium-rich potassium brine reserve of 2.1 billion cubic meters, and the amount of potassium sulfate resources in the new type of polyhalite potash mine exceeds 1 billion tons. In recent years, Xuanhan County has highlighted the two "trillion-level" resources of natural gas and lithium-potassium, focusing on "building a comprehensive utilization cluster area of natural gas, lithium, and potassium in Wanda", continuously expanding and strengthening the four pillar industries of natural gas sulfur, comprehensive utilization of lithium and potassium, micro-glass fiber, and new metal materials.
