Xinjiang Xinye Energy¡äs New BDO Project is being Fully Promoted

On June 5, the 10-kilovolt system of the second phase of the 200,000 tons/year BDO (1,4-butanediol) project of Xinjiang Xinye Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully received power for the first time, marking the successful completion of another key node of the project and creating conditions for the subsequent single-machine commissioning.
The project is one of the key projects in Xinjiang, with a total investment of 1.8 billion yuan. Construction started in February 2023. The project covers 38 installation projects such as acetylene equipment, formaldehyde equipment, BDO equipment, and other professional fields including civil engineering, pipelines, and electricity. Up to now, the project design content and the main structure of civil engineering have been completed, with 98% of equipment installation completed, 95% of process pipeline installation completed, and 90% of electrical and instrumentation installation completed. The project has fully entered the stage of single-machine commissioning.
The construction site of the 200,000 tons/year 1,4-butanediol fine chemical and supporting project of Xinjiang Xinye Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. is located in the expansion area of the East Industrial Park of Wujiaqu Industrial Zone. The construction scale of the project is: annual production of 500,000 tons of methanol, 200,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, 100,000 tons of mixed aromatics from methanol, and 192,000 tons of liquefied natural gas.
Among them, the first phase of the 60,000-ton BDO project was completed and put into operation in 2019, with stable operation and achieving production capacity and efficiency. The second phase of the 140,000-ton BDO project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan and a construction period of 18 months. It is expected to be completed and put into production in August 2024.
It is reported that after the full operation of Xinye Energy¡äs 200,000 tons/year BDO project, it can achieve an annual output value of 2.2 billion yuan, a net profit of 700 million yuan, and create more than 100 job opportunities.
Xinjiang Xinye Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. currently possesses technologies such as crushed coal pressurized gasification from Sedin Engineering Co., Ltd., one-step gasoline production from the Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, acetylene aldehyde method for BDO production from INVISTA, methanol synthesis from Casale AG, formaldehyde technology from Perstorp AB, and Claus sulfur recovery. The company produces 60,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol, 500,000 tons of methanol, and 192,000 tons of liquefied natural gas with 99.9% methane content annually.
