Recently, Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the general contract of EVA unit for methanol to olefin and downstream deep processing integration project.
After the signing ceremony, the EVA plant EPC kick-off meeting was held, attended by Meng Qingjun, Chief Engineer of Guangxi Huayi Energy Chemical, and Luo Yongzhe, Deputy General Manager of China Huanqiu Daqing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd, and members of both project teams. At the meeting, both parties had in-depth discussions on design, procurement, construction, project management requirements, project schedule control, and digital delivery, and reached a consensus to lay the foundation for subsequent project construction.
The success of the EPC kick-off meeting for the EVA plant marks that all units of the methanol to olefin and downstream deep processing integration project have entered the on-site construction stage.
The three-phase project of Huayi Qinzhou Chemical New Materials Integration Base is planned to be totally invested at about 55 billion yuan, with methanol to olefin as the leading product. The downstream chain mainly focuses on high-end new material products such as olefin materials, degradable materials, polyurethane materials, engineering plastics, etc. that are encouraged by the country for development. It plays an important role in promoting the refinement, high-end, and green development of Qinzhou¡äs petrochemical industry, accelerating the cultivation and development of new quality productivity, and building a modern industrial system. Among them, the total investment of the core project - methanol to olefin and downstream deep processing integration project is 13.6 billion yuan, mainly for building million tons of methanols to olefin and vinyl acetate, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer) production facilities. The project started construction in March 2023, with the first single building project completed and the main unit accelerating construction and planned to be completed by 2025.
