Tianjin Petrochemical¡¯s CHP-based Epoxy Propane Unit Successfully Calibrated

Recently, the 150,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide isopropylbenzene (CHP) -based epoxy propane industrial demonstration plant of Tianjin Petrochemical, which adopts Sinopec¡äs independent intellectual property technology, successfully underwent 72-hour calibration. The unit consumption, energy consumption and other indicators fully met the standards, and the product purity exceeded 99.99%, reaching the national standard for excellent products. It will provide support for the high value-added extension of the company¡äs propylene industry chain.

Epoxy propane is an important basic organic raw material. With the booming growth of new energy and other fields, the downstream market of epoxy propane embraces opportunities, with its purity index directly affecting the performance of downstream products. As a green chemical process, the CHP-based epoxy propane technique features high atomic economy, low consumption of reactants, and minimal introduction of impurities, ensuring product purity from the source.

Taking a self-developed complete set of technology jointly developed by Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute, Shanghai Engineering Company, Tianjin Petrochemical, and Qingdao Safety Engineering Research Institute, it has been selected as one of the "Ten Flagship" scientific and technological research projects of Sinopec. The project team has developed a competitive advanced CHP-based epoxy propane technology system through a joint research and development model, which deeply integrates innovation in reaction processes, catalytic materials and process control. In the process of design, construction, and operation, the company strictly adheres to various safety and environmental protection requirements so as to provide strong guarantees for the successful application of technology.
