Announcement on the 360,000-tonne C4 Olefin Chemical Project of Sanjiang Chemical
2024-7-26
Recently, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Raw Material Optimization and Technical Renovation Project of the 360,000-tonne/year C4 Olefin Comprehensive Utilization Project of Sanjiang Chemical Co., Ltd. has been publicly announced.
Construction Scale and Product Plan:
This project involves technological upgrades to the existing C4 olefin comprehensive utilization plant. Specifically, a new 120,000-tonne/year alkane-alkene separation unit will be added. The original 120,000-tonne/year methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) unit will be expanded to 220,000-tonne/year, while the existing 360,000-tonne/year isomerization unit remains unchanged. The output products will include 220,000-tonne/year of methyl tert-butyl ether, 8,000-tonne/year of propane (crude), 8,000-tonne/year of crude pentene, and 52,000-tonne/year of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a commercial propane-butane mixture. Additionally, the existing MBR pretreatment pond in the C4 olefin plant area will be demolished, and adaptive modifications will be made to the control room and power distribution room of the current plant. Upon completion, this project will replace the existing C4 olefin comprehensive utilization plant (including the isomerization unit and MTBE unit).
