Zhenyang Development Plans to Build a 100,000-Ton Caustic Soda Project Using Recycled Salt
2024-7-31
On July 30th, Zhenyang Development (stock code: 603213) recently announced its plan to build a 100,000-ton caustic soda project utilizing recycled salt.
Primary construction scale and content: Based on the existing chlor-alkali plant with an annual production capacity of 350,000 tons, the project will leverage existing chlor-alkali plant facilities and utilities to establish processes such as refined recycled salt production, primary/secondary brine refining, electrolysis units, and hydrogen/chlorine gas treatment. This will enable an annual capacity of processing 100,000 tons of recycled salt into 200,000 tons of caustic soda. The project construction period is estimated to be 15 months.
Necessity of the project: This project aligns with the government¡äs advocacy for circular and green industrial development strategies. With recycled salt as one of the primary raw materials, most of the caustic soda, chlorine, and hydrogen products produced can be consumed internally by the company, as well as by petrochemical parks and surrounding enterprises. Upon completion, the project will further expand the company¡äs chlor-alkali production scale, reduce manufacturing costs per unit of chlor-alkali product, and enhance product marginal benefits.
