On August 15th, the ethylene cracker gas compressor turbine for the 1.5 million tons/year ethylene plant in the first-phase chemical bid section 1 of the Yulong Petrochemical Refining and Chemical Integration Project, successfully completed its first individual test, marking the official transition of this largest ethylene plant in China from the construction phase to the commissioning phase.

As the core dynamic equipment of the ethylene plant, this unit comprises four individual components: a steam turbine, a low-pressure cylinder, a medium-pressure cylinder, and a high-pressure cylinder, with a total length of 25.1 meters and a total weight of nearly 540 tons.

Since the steam turbine commissioning milestone was confirmed by the owner, the project team overcame various challenges. While ensuring quality and safety, the preparatory work before commissioning, including torque tightening of bolts at the steam turbine inlet and outlet and insulation of the turbine body, was completed within 24 hours of intensive efforts. During the pre-commissioning inspection, technical representatives highly praised the outstanding achievement of achieving a parallelism of no more than 0.35 millimeters for the stress-free
piping flanges.
