Latest Progress of Dushanzi Petrochemical¡äs 1.2 Million Ton Ethylene Project

On August 20, 2024, in the Shangku Petroleum and Petrochemical Industrial Park in Korla, Xinjiang, the first large-scale oversized equipment, including the 1 # propylene tower and the quench water tower, was completed and delivered for the Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim 1.2 million tons/year Phase II ethylene project, undertaken to be manufactured by Lanshi Heavy Industry Mobile Factory Branch.
The delivered emergency cooling tower has a diameter of 12 meters, a length of 61.7 meters, and a weight of 1200 tons, while the 1 # propylene tower has a diameter of 6.4 meters, a length of 61.8 meters, and a weight of 660 tons. They are the key core static equipment of the ethylene plant, with a large amount of internal and external pre welded components and limited transportation. The main facilitates are all manufactured in the project¡äs large prefabrication plant.
Under the Tarim Phase II Ethylene Project of PetroChina Dushanzi Petrochemical, ethane is mainly separated from natural gas and then converted into ethylene through ethane cracking. This project is totally invested at 29 billion yuan, including the construction of 11 sets of main production facilities, such 1.2 million tons/year of ethylene, two sets of 450,000 tons/year full density polyethylene, 300,000 tons/year low-density polyethylene, 450,000 tons/year polypropylene and integrated construction of green and low-carbon demonstration projects.
