A Chinese Company will Invest in the Construction of Green Hydrogen Plants in Europe

On August 28, 2024, the regional government of Andalusia in Spain announced that Chinese electrolyzer manufacturer Hygreen Energy will invest €2 billion (USD 2.2 billion) to construct green hydrogen plants in the region.
Andalusia has leveraged its abundant wind and solar power generation potential to position itself as a leader in green hydrogen energy in Spain and Europe. Currently, the region is planning to establish Europe¡äs largest green hydrogen hub.
Hygreen Energy, a global OEM of electrolyzers, designs and manufactures hydrogen production systems that encompass various electrolysis technologies, including alkaline, PEM, and AEM. By 2024, the company has completed over 300 projects across five continents, with an annual manufacturing capacity reaching 2GW.
