Recently, the environmental impact report of the comprehensive utilization project of circular economy for waste salt resource recovery in the green and environmental protection industry of Hongniu (Erdos) Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. has been approved by the Erdos Ecological Environment Bureau of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, marking a significant progress in the promotion of this project.

The total investment of the project is 2.3 billion yuan, of which 23.56 million yuan is invested in environmental protection. The main construction contents of the project include the main plant (waste salt treatment unit, ion-exchange membrane electrolysis unit), warehouse, tank area, loading and unloading platform, temporary hazardous waste storage, as well as comprehensive building, R&D center, and other related auxiliary facilities.

The project uses waste salt and raw salt as raw materials. The waste salt is subjected to pyrolysis oxidation process to remove organic matter, and then refined by wet method to separate salt and meet the industrial salt standard. With appropriate brine blending, caustic soda and chlorine gas are produced by ion-exchange membrane electrolysis technology. After completion, the project will annually process 300,000 tons of industrial waste salt and produce 300,000 tons of chlor-alkali.
