Shaanxi Yuneng Epoxy Resin Integration Project Ready to Start Construction

2024-9-5

Recently, Shaanxi Yuneng Nenghua New Materials Co., Ltd. has made a further stride in the epoxy resin integration projects. The company successfully held several key meetings at China Chemical Sedin Engineering Co. Ltd, including the PFD (process flow diagram) review meeting for the 300,000 tons/year isopropylbenzene unit, the kick-off meeting for the 350,000 tons/year phenol acetone and 240,000 tons/year bisphenol A unit process packages, and the kick-off meeting for the basic engineering design of these units. The convening of this series of meetings marks the official start of the basic design work for the isopropylbenzene, phenol acetone, and bisphenol A units in the project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent engineering construction.

Project background and construction scale
The epoxy resin integration project (Phase I) of Shaanxi Yuneng Nenghua New Materials Co., Ltd. has gained popular attention from the industry since it was approved for filing in March 2024.

Total investment: 13.2 billion yuan

Construction location: Shenmu High tech Industrial Development Zone, Shaanxi Province

The project aims to create a comprehensive chemical industry base that integrates production, processing, and sales. The project covers the entire chain from upstream raw materials to downstream products, including multiple key facilities such as an annual production of 800,000 tons of methanol to propylene (DMTP) unit, 125,000 tons of chloropropene unit, and 150,000 tons of epichlorohydrin unit, fully demonstrating its strategic layout of scale and integration.

These devices not only represent the advanced technological level in the industry, but also are the key to the company¡äs future market competitiveness. Cumene, phenol acetone, and bisphenol A are important feedstocks for high-end new materials such as epoxy resin, ethylene propylene rubber, and polyolefin elastomers. The improvement of their production capacity will directly promote the extension and value-added development of downstream product chains.

In addition, the project also plans to produce 250,000 tons of epoxy resin per year, 100,000 tons of high salt wastewater purification equipment, 100,000 tons of polyolefin elastomer (POE) equipment, and 30,000 tons of ethylene propylene rubber equipment, forming a fully integrated chemical project from upstream raw materials to downstream products. This layout of the entire industry chain not only helps to reduce production costs and improve resource utilization efficiency, but also enhances the enterprise¡äs risk resistance and market competitiveness.

Project progress and future prospects
According to the plan, the project is scheduled to officially start construction in October 2024. With the gradual progress of preliminary work and the improvement of various preparations, the project is expected to proceed smoothly based on the established timeline.
