Yaxing Chemical Accelerates PVDC High-end New Material Project
2024-9-10
On September 5th, the construction of the 45,000-tonne-per-year high-end new material project of Weifang Yaxing Chemical Co., Ltd. was accelerated. With a total planned investment of 701.54 million yuan, the project will simultaneously establish a 25,000-tonne-per-year PVDC and a 20,000-tonne-per-year VDC (vinylidene chloride) raw material plant, along with supporting facilities. Since the commencement of the project, remarkable progress has been made, with over half of the civil construction completed and the procurement of major equipment successfully concluded. The project aims to finish civil construction and major equipment installation by the end of the year, followed by commissioning and pilot production in the first half of next year. This marks a significant breakthrough for Yaxing Chemical in implementing projects in the field of high-end new materials.
Yaxing Chemical is benchmarking itself against world-class standards, accelerating the transformation and upgrading in the green chemicals and new materials sectors. It has exclusively introduced PVDC industrial technology from the Korean SK Group, a Fortune 500 company. This technology, built upon SK Group¡äs acquisition of Dow Chemical¡äs PVDC plant in the United States and continuous R&D efforts, enables the production of two types of high-end barrier materials ¨C PVDC-MA and PVDC-VC ¨C in various grades, catering to the individual needs of customers across multiple sectors domestically and internationally.
PVDC resin is widely recognized as one of the best plastic packaging materials globally in terms of comprehensive barrier properties. It is extensively used in food packaging, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, military industries, and more. Due to its non-toxic and safe characteristics, PVDC is hailed as a "green" packaging material in many countries. As technological advancements elevate living standards, the demand for high-performance barrier packaging materials will continue to rise.
Upon completion, the project will effectively integrate and utilize chlorine gas, caustic soda, and supporting utilities within the Yaxing Chemical Industrial Park, strengthening the circular economy through extended, complementary, and fortified industrial chains. This will further enrich Yaxing Chemical¡äs product portfolio, drive the company¡äs transformation from traditional chlor-alkali chemicals to high-end new materials industries, and inject new vitality into its development.
