The products produced by Sumitomo Chemical at its Chiba plant in Japan have obtained the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC PLUS). ISCC PLUS is a global certification system designed to ensure that sustainable raw materials (including recycled materials and biomass materials) are effectively managed throughout the supply chain and manufacturing process. This certification enables Sumitomo Chemical to integrate certified sustainable materials into its products by mass balance while maintaining the transparency and traceability of its production and supply chain.

The products recently certified by ISCC PLUS by Sumitomo Chemical are processed and produced at its Chiba plant, including a series of polyethylene and polypropylene products. Certified polyethylene products are SUMIKATHENE™, SUMIKATHENE™-L, SUMIKATHENE™ α, SUMIKATAHENE™ Hi α, SUMICATHENE™ EP, EXCELLEN™, EXCELLER™ GMH, EXCELLEN™ FX, EXCELLLEN™ VL, GETABOND™ and ACRYFT™. Certified polypropylene products are SUMITOMONBLEN™ and EXCELLEN™. Propylene oxide is also included in the certification. This certification demonstrates Sumitomo Chemical′s commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing throughout the production process.
