On September 9, the Development and Reform Committee of Urad Middle Banner approved the registration of the annual 1 million-ton green methanol project at the Ganqimaodu Port Processing Park in Urad Middle Banner, undertaken by Yuanhuang Energy (Bayannur) Co., Ltd. The project utilizes green hydrogen and green oxygen generated from electrolysis of water powered by wind and solar energy, and combines them with syngas from biomass gasification to synthesize green methanol. The project will be implemented in two phases, with each phase constructing a 500,000-ton/year green methanol production plant and supporting facilities.
