On September 26th, the 300,000 tons/year propylene oxide plant and the 240,000 tons/year hydrogen peroxide plant, part of the upgrade and expansion project of Maoming Petrochemical, commenced operations. Both plants under construction adopt proprietary technologies of Sinopec. The EPC tasks are undertaken by a consortium of Shanghai Engineering Company and the Fifth Construction Company, while Fangyuan Supervision is responsible for construction supervision. It is planned to complete the construction of the two production plants and auxiliary facilities by October 2026.

Upon completion, the two plants will drive the high-quality development of the petrochemical industry cluster in Maoming and even the South China region, accelerate the construction of new productive forces, strengthen domestic industrial and supply chains, and contribute to China′s promotion of new-type industrialization and the accelerated construction of a manufacturing powerhouse.
