Pre-Approval Announcement for A Major Project of Satellite Chemical

Recently, a pre-approval public notice has been issued for the key project of chemical giant Satellite Chemical, namely the "Integrated Project of Zhejiang Satellite Energy Co., Ltd. with Annual Production Capacity of 40,000 Tonnes of Hydrogen, 900,000 Tonnes of Propylene, 800,000 Tonnes of Polyols, 80,000 Tonnes of Neopentyl Glycol Chemical New Materials, and Hydrogen Energy Utilization".
According to the introduction, this project occupies a total land area of approximately 496 mu (approximately 33 hectares) and has a total investment of approximately RMB 10.2 billion. The main construction facilities of the project include PDH (Propane Dehydrogenation), Polyols, Neopentyl Glycol, as well as supporting process units such as air separation, syngas production, and syngas purification. Additionally, there will be supporting storage and transportation engineering, utility engineering, auxiliary engineering, service engineering, and off-site engineering associated with the process units.
The product featured in this public notice is Neopentyl Glycol, which is a downstream product of the 800,000-tonne Polyols project. Zhejiang Satellite Energy Co., Ltd. has already completed two phases of PDH production with a total capacity of 900,000 tonnes, both using UOP technology. If the third-phase integrated project is commissioned, the company¡äs PDH capacity will reach 1.8 million tonnes per year.
