The Development Momentum of Rigid PVC Foam Products is Robust

2024-10-9

Currently, the rigid PVC foam products industry is experiencing rapid growth, with revenue and profits from the main business of above-scale enterprises increasing. It has emerged as a robust growth power for new-quality productivity in the industry¡äs development.

According to statistics from the Rigid PVC Foam Products Professional Committee of China Plastics Processing Industry Association, in 2023, global rigid PVC foam product capacity exceeded 2.2 million tonnes, with output reaching approximately 1.82 million tonnes. Among them, China¡äs output was about 1.45 million tonnes, an increase of 39% year-on-year; exports totaled 378,500 tonnes, up 20% compared to the previous year. In the first half of 2024, rigid PVC foam wallboards maintained a high growth rate, and foam advertising boards also showed some growth.

Industry insiders state that the main business revenue and profits of above-scale enterprises have increased, and large-scale and benchmark enterprises have become important engines leading and promoting high-quality development in the industry. It is necessary to promote the healthy development of the industry through the leading role of benchmark enterprises and the formulation of benchmark standards. To accelerate the development of new-quality productivity in the industry, the first step is to strengthen technological research and development, improve product quality, and innovate raw materials, molds, and extrusion equipment, with a focus on enhancing the Vicat softening point of PVC foam products. Additionally, the integration of industry, academia, and research should be enhanced to improve the efficiency of modifiers. Secondly, it is crucial to keep abreast of national policies, vigorously develop environmentally friendly building materials, seize opportunities in old house renovations, and improve the thermal deformation of rigid PVC foam wallboards and flooring through improved formulas and production processes. Furthermore, industry standards should be refined to enhance the compliance rate of industry products.
