An EIA Announcement for a Project Involving Epoxy Resin, ECH, and Epoxy Diluent

On October 8th, the official website of Hebei Cangzhou Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone announced the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the 80,000 tonnes/year epoxy resin and its supporting projects (Phase I and Phase II) of Hebei Jinbang New Material Co., Ltd.
Project Name: 80,000 tonnes/year Epoxy Resin and 200,000 tonnes/year Potassium Sulfate with Supporting Projects (Phase I and Phase II)
Project Investment: RMB 1,503,212,500
Commissioning Date: Phase I of the project is expected to be officially commissioned in November 2024; Phase II is expected to be officially commissioned in May 2026.
Product Plan:
Phase I: Annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of potassium sulfate, 80,000 tonnes of epichlorohydrin (ECH), 50,000 tonnes of refined glycerol, 50,000 tonnes of calcium chloride dihydrate, 100,000 tonnes of calcium chloride antifreeze, with by-products of 10,400 tonnes of industrial hydrochloric acid (B acid).
Phase II: Annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of potassium sulfate, 80,000 tonnes of epoxy resin, 113,500 tonnes of 98% sulfuric acid, with by-products of 30,700 tonnes of industrial hydrochloric acid (A acid), 10,400 tonnes of industrial hydrochloric acid (B acid), 28,000 tonnes of sodium chloride, and 2,600 tonnes of glycerol as a by-product of epoxy resin production.
Phase III: Annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of calcium chloride dihydrate, 100,000 tonnes of calcium chloride antifreeze, 40,000 tonnes of epoxy diluent, 80,000 tonnes of epichlorohydrin, and 180,000 tonnes of sodium chloride brine.
