Approval of Energy Consumption Quota for a Semi-coke Project by a Subsidiary of Sanwei Corporation

On October 25, the official website of the Development and Reform Commission (DRC) of Wuhai City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, announced that the energy-saving report for the Phase I of the 2 Million Tonnes Integrated Comprehensive Utilization Semi-coke Project of Inner Mongolia Sanwei Qianyi Energy Co., Ltd. had been approved by the Autonomous Region¡äs DRC. This approval signifies that the energy consumption quota for Phase I has been finalized, allowing construction to commence. Inner Mongolia Sanwei Qianyi Energy Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Sanwei Corporation. As a crucial component of Sanwei Corporation¡äs 900,000-tonne BDO Integrated Project in Inner Mongolia, the aforementioned Semi-coke Comprehensive Utilization Project, upon completion, will achieve self-sufficiency in raw materials such as methanol and hydrogen required for BDO production, significantly reducing BDO production costs.

Leveraging Wuhai¡äs high-quality resources such as semi-coke and limestone, combined with cost-reducing and carbon-reducing projects like self-supplied calcium carbide production capacity and power generation units, the BDO Integrated Project boasts significant market competitive advantages.
Public information indicates that Inner Mongolia Sanwei New Materials Co., Ltd. specializes in the integrated industrial chain of fine chemical new materials. Its current main product is BDO, and it plans to expand downstream into high-end polyether materials, biodegradable plastics, electronic chemicals, and other products, with its product line covering basic raw materials for fine chemicals, biodegradable materials, and new chemical materials. The third-quarter report shows that in the first three quarters of 2024, Sanwei Corporation achieved a revenue of RMB 3.706 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29.6%, with BDO and calcium carbide contributing a combined revenue of RMB 1.153 billion, providing a crucial boost to the rise in overall revenue.
