Yussen Group¡äs BDO Production Conversion Project for Methyl Ethyl Ketone has been Successfully Tested

Recently, Yussen Group disclosed its third-quarter 2024 results. In the first three quarters of 2024, revenue was approximately 5.691 billion yuan, an increase of 21.96% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was approximately 262 million yuan, a decrease of 31.33% year-on-year.
Yussen Group previously stated that currently, the entire BDO industry chain is in surplus. At present, the company¡äs BDO device (Yussen New Material¡¯s 120,000-ton BDO device) is being converted to produce alcohol and sec-butanol by hydrogenation of sec-butyl ester, and then producing methyl ethyl ketone by dehydrogenation of sec-butanol. Compared with other process routes, it has a competitive advantage and will have better economic benefits.
As of October 16, the "optimization and transformation project of hydrogenation process of sec-butyl ester for methyl ethyl ketone device" constructed by Huizhou Yussen New Materials Co., Ltd., a holding subsidiary of the company, has recently obtained the "Receipt for Filing of the Trial Production (Use) Plan for Hazardous Chemical Construction Projects". After this project entered the trial production stage, through the installation and debugging of relevant equipment of the device and the optimization and adjustment of technical process parameters, qualified products have now been produced.
