Tianjin Nangang 1.2 million Tons/Year Ethylene Project Completed and Put into Operation
2024-11-14
On November 11th, the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end new materials industry cluster project in Tianjin Nangang was successfully launched, with its entire process completed and qualified products rolled out.
The project¡äs commissioning marks that the ethylene production capacity of Sinopec Tianjin Base has reached 2.5 million tons per year, becoming one of the largest industrial bases for Sinopec¡äs ethylene production. It will drive the development of downstream industries worth billions of yuan, promote the development of Tianjin¡äs fine chemical and new materials industries to be at the forefront of the country, and continue to contribute to the coordinated development of Beijing Tianjin Hebei.
The Tianjin Nangang Ethylene Project is a key project of the national "14th Five Year Plan" and an important strategic outcome for Tianjin to build a national advanced manufacturing research and development base and a world-class refining base of Sinopec. This project applies first-class industrial technology and design concepts, mainly including 13 sets of chemical plants such as a 1.2 million tons/year ethylene facility and downstream facilities, producing high-end and differentiated new materials and specialty chemicals which can fill domestic gaps.
The project aims to unleash new development momentum through green and intelligent manufacturing. It is the first of its kind in China to couple ethylene plants with LNG cold energy utilization, creating the first green power plant in China¡äs petrochemical industry to lay out a refining base. It has also established the first unmanned intelligent laboratory in the domestic petrochemical industry as it strives to forge new quality productive forces.
