Sekisui Chemical to Build a New PVC Composite Materials Factory in Thailand

2024-11-19

Recently, Sekisui Chemical announced that the company will build its second polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite materials factory in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in southeastern Thailand to produce chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin (CPVC), and it is planned to be put into operation before March 2025.

CPVC is a special vinyl chloride resin with added chlorine and is mainly used as the raw material for piping materials that require heat resistance, such as hot water pipes and sprinkler pipes. In recent years, the demand for heat-resistant resin piping materials has been continuously increasing in some countries including India, and it is expected that the demand will grow steadily in the future. Therefore, Sekisui Chemical has decided to build a second factory in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, which will expand the production capacity of CPVC to 1.6 times the current level. Sekisui Chemical stated that it will meet the needs of customers with reliable quality and stable supply.
