Shandong Dawn Titanium Industry Co., ltd, a subsidiary of Dawn Group, recently announced a major investment plan to invest 1.019 billion yuan to build a 100,000 ton/year co production titanium dioxide project.

Built within the existing factory area of Shandong Dawn Titanium Industry Co., Ltd, the proposed project adopts the co production sulfuric acid process to produce high-quality rutile titanium dioxide. The project will build one 100,000 t/a crude production line for rutile titanium dioxide, one 100,000 t/a (converted to titanium dioxide) high-quality production line for titanium dioxide, and one 135,000 t/a waste acid filtration and concentration production line. The storage and transportation project includes the construction of three 600m3 concentrated sulfuric acid transfer tanks, two 70m3 hydrochloric acid transfer tanks, two 180m3 50% liquid alkali transfer tanks, two 180m3 32% liquid alkali transfer tanks, two 100m3 waste sulfuric acid tanks, two 100m3 recovered sulfuric acid tanks, and closed pipelines for liquid materials. After the project is completed, the company will increase its annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of crude rutile titanium dioxide (equivalent to 115,000 tons/year of high-quality titanium dioxide), and produce 340,000 tons/year of heptahydrate iron sulfate as a by-product, with a recovery of 135,000 tons/year of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 58%.
