On September 26th, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment held a research meeting on the source control of plastic pollution in Nangang Industrial Zone, Tianjin. The meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives from the Solid State Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Environmental Resources Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Energy Conservation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, relevant departments of Tianjin, Zhongsha Petrochemical, Tianjin Petrochemical and Tianjin Bohai Chemical Development among other companies. Zhang Peichao, Vice President and Secretary General of CCAIA, and Wang Yang, Deputy Director of the Information Department, also attended the meeting. Wen Xuefeng, Deputy Director of the Solid State Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, presided over the meeting. Zhongsha Petrochemical, Tianjin Petrochemical, and Bohai Chemical Development introduced their production and operation progress, and responded to the questions of the research team. During the conference, CCAIA introduced in its speech the overall development of polyvinyl chloride in China, its important role in the entire industry chain system, its significant impact on economic and social development, and its unique advantages in downstream applications such as healthcare. Meanwhile, the research team stated that they would attach great importance to the opinions and suggestions by CCAIA.
