Chemours Company and PCC Collaborate on a Titanium Dioxide and Chlor-Alkali Production Line
2024-12-24
The Chemours Company announced that PCC Group plans to build and operate a brand new chlor-alkali facility at its titanium dioxide (TiO2) plant in Dreyer, Mississippi, USA. At the same time, both parties have signed a chlorine gas supply agreement, which cannot take effect until several customary prerequisites are met.
It is reported that the chlor-alkali facility will adopt the most advanced technology to achieve maximum energy utilization efficiency. Once completed and put into operation, the factory will reach 340,000 tons of annual designed production capacity. The by-product of this project, caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), will be sold by PCC Group to strategic partners or circulated through the open market. The project is expected to commence construction in early 2026 and is scheduled to be officially put into operation in 2028.
The project is expected to provide full-time job opportunities for PCC Group and create up to 1200 temporary construction positions during the construction period, bringing significant economic benefits to the local community.
