Recently, it was learned from the Yueyang Ethylene Project Construction Coordination Command that Sinopec Group has officially approved the overall design of the ethylene part of the Yueyang Ethylene Project, and agreed in principle with the project′s overall process, construction scale and product plan. This is another major breakthrough in the preliminary work of the project, marking the official entry of the project construction into the implementation stage.

Project Name: Sinopec’s Ethylene Engineering of 1 Million Tons/Year Ethylene Refining and Chemical Integration Project in Yueyang

Construction nature: Newly built

Construction content: This project involves the construction of a 1 million tons/year ethylene plant and a total of 14 downstream plants, including ethylene plant, EVA plant, HDPE plant, LLDPE plant, aromatic benzene production plant, butadiene extraction plant, MTBE/butene-1 plant, pyrolysis gasoline hydrogenation plant, aromatic extraction plant, styrene extraction plant, C5 separation plant, CHPPO plant, phenol/acetone plant, bisphenol A plant, as well as necessary storage and transportation engineering, public works, auxiliary facilities, and off-site engineering.

Construction location: within the Hunan Yueyang Green Chemical High tech Industrial Development Zone, Yueyang City, Hunan Province.

The project was expected to start in June 2023, with an estimated production date of December 2025.
