The Duolun Datang Wind and Solar Power Hydrogen Production Integrated Demonstration Project Commences Operation

Recently, the Duolun Datang 150,000 - kilowatt wind and solar power hydrogen production integrated demonstration project, the first large-medium-sized off-grid wind and solar power hydrogen production project deeply coupled with coal chemical industry in China, was officially connected to the grid and put into operation.
The project generates green electricity at the new energy end and transmits it to the hydrogen production end. At the hydrogen production end, green hydrogen is produced by electrolyzing water. Then, the hydrogen is transported to the methanol synthesis inlet of Duolun Datang Coal Chemical Industry to replace grey hydrogen, etc. This completes the utilization of green hydrogen coupled with the coal chemical industry, effectively reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 129,300 tons. It is of great significance for achieving the innovative integration demonstration of green hydrogen and coal chemical industry, promoting the transformation and upgrading of the coal chemical industry, and ensuring national energy security, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
After the project is put into production, it will become an important part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region¡äs efforts to expand the wind-solar-hydrogen-storage industrial cluster and build a national-level new energy equipment manufacturing base. In particular, the research on green hydrogen coupled with the coal chemical industry can play a positive exemplary role in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Xilingol League in carrying out large-scale wind and solar power hydrogen production, tackling key problems in new energy storage technologies, and promoting the industrial application of green hydrogen.
