LG Chem¡äs PVC Layout in the Market for Environmentally Friendly and Flame-retardant Charging Materials

Recently, LG Chem signed a cooperation agreement (MOU) with South Korean EV charging station cable manufacturing company EL ELECTRIC to develop environmentally-friendly and flame-retardant cables for electric vehicles, officially laying out the market for electric vehicle charging cables with high value-added PVC materials.
Through this agreement, LG Chem will supply EL ELECTRIC with ultra-high polymerization degree PVC material suitable for high-speed charging cables of electric vehicles. At the same time, we will actively cooperate with global clients and explore new business opportunities that meet market demands.
The electric vehicle charging cable made of ultra-high polymerization degree PVC features excellent heat resistance and flame retardant properties, which can effectively avoid fire accidents. Meanwhile, its flexibility can be improved by about 30% compared with existing materials. In addition, charging cables using this material can be reprocessed and easily recycled when discarded.
In addition, LG Chem is collaborating with various enterprises to actively explore high value-added PVC application scenarios, such as high heat-resistant wire harnesses for automobiles, environmentally-friendly and wear-resistant flooring materials and artificial leather for automotive seats.
