CCAIA Attends the Symposium on the Analysis of the Economic Operation Situation of Key Industries in the Petrochemical and Chemical System

On January 17th, the Symposium on the Analysis of the Economic Operation Situation of Key Industries in the Petrochemical and Chemical System was held in Beijing. Huang Yu, Deputy Director of the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Han Jingyou, Second-level Inspector, Dai Fei, Chief of the Petrochemical Section of the Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Fu Xiangsheng, Vice President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and other leaders attended the meeting. Units such as the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, the China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association, the China Soda Industry Association, The China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, the China Phosphate & Compound Fertilizer Industry Association, the China Crop Protection Industry Association, the China Rubber Industry Association, the China National Coatings Industry Association, the China Synthetic Resin Association participated in the meeting. Zhang Peichao, Vice President and Secretary-General of CCAIA, and Zheng Jiebin, Deputy Secretary-General, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Fu Xiangsheng, Vice President of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. Each association introduced the economic operation situation of its industry and put forward targeted policy recommendations. At the meeting, Secretary-General Zhang Peichao of CCAIA introduced the economic operation situation of the chlor-alkali industry in 2024, including a slight increase in the production capacity of leading products, narrow market fluctuations, and growth in the exports of caustic soda and polyvinyl chloride. At the same time, he pointed out the problems and challenges faced by the industry, such as the risk of disorderly scale expansion, imbalance between alkali and chlorine, and increased international competition pressure, and put forward relevant policy recommendations.
