Recently, the Wind Power Hydrogen Production Technology Verification Platform Project of the Green Hydrogen Pilot-scale Base in Fujian Province was approved by the Fujian Provincial Development and Reform Commission.

It is reported that the project is developed by Fujian Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Co., Ltd. The construction scale of the project is 20 MW. It is planned to install 2 wind turbines with a capacity of 10 MW each. The electricity generated by the wind turbines is connected to the 35 KV switchgear through a 35 KV collector line. It is preferentially used for the pilot-scale verification of wind power hydrogen production technology. The surplus electricity is sent to the oilfield substation for grid connection through the switchgear via a 35 KV line or consumed by the affiliated enterprises of Fujian Energy & Petrochemical Group Co., Ltd.

The project aims to conduct pilot-scale verification of water electrolysis hydrogen production under fluctuating wind power output and the application and consumption of green hydrogen, build an empirical platform for green hydrogen production and diversified comprehensive utilization of hydrogen-based energy, and establish a standardized energy system assessment center, a green hydrogen application safety test and verification center, and a hydrogen energy equipment testing and certification base. It will accelerate the connection of the empirical chain of "offshore energy-hydrogen energy storage-hydrogen-based energy application", providing an innovative solution for Fujian Province to build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system.
