New Progress in Lanzhou Petrochemical¡äs Upgrading of Ethylene Transformation Project

On January 17th, Lanzhou Petrochemical held a handover ceremony for the process design package of upgrading of ethylene transformation project. Three sets of independent technology process packages, including 400,000 tons/year multi-zone polymerized polypropylene, 450,000 tons/year gas-phase polyethylene, and 100,000 tons/year ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, went through the handover from the Science and Technology Innovation Center to the ethylene transformation project management department, marking the formal shift of the polyolefin main part of the ethylene transformation project from feasibility study to design implementation. The successful development of three process packages is also an important milestone for Lanzhou Petrochemical¡äs upgrading of its ethylene transformation project.
In January, Lanzhou Petrochemical processed 760,000 tons of crude oil, produced 514,000 tons of refined oil, 140,600 tons of ethylene, 180,000 tons of synthetic resin, and 19,500 tons of synthetic rubber. With the listed business maintaining profitability, the company ranked first among refining enterprises of China National Petroleum Corporation.
Looking back at the entire year 2024, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company processed 9.427 million tons of crude oil and produced 1.493 million tons of ethylene. As the production of ethylene, synthetic resin, and synthetic rubber reached a historical high, the production and sales of aviation fuel exceeded 1 million tons for the first time. Medical materials accounted for more than 70% of the domestic market share. The output by the Yulin ethylene plant reached 81,000 tons last December, setting a new record since completed and put into operation.
