Tarim 1.2 Million Tons/Year Ethylene Phase II Project Resumes Work

On February 12th, key projects were restarted in the petroleum and petrochemical industrial park of Korla Shangku High Tech Zone when the resumption ceremony of the 1.2 million tons/year Phase II Ethylene Project of Dushanzi Petrochemical Tarim kicked off.
It is reported that there are a total of 19 centralized resumption projects with a total investment of 40.2 billion yuan, involving an annual planned investment of 15.327 billion yuan in energy and chemical industry, commercial logistics, cultural tourism and urban construction among other fields. There are three projects worth over 1 billion yuan, including Phase II Ethylene, Tarim Photovoltaic, and Beautiful China Resort Hotel, with industrial projects accounting for 94%. These projects have a large investment scale and strong driving ability, which will inject strong impetus into the high-quality development of the economy in Licheng.
The 1.2 million tons/year Phase II ethylene project of Dushanzi Petrochemical in Tarim is a major one that has attracted much attention during the 14th Five Year Plan period of the Xinjiang autonomous region. The total investment of this project is 25.6 billion yuan, with an annual planned investment of 14 billion yuan. Boasting advantages of light raw materials, high yield, short process, low investment, and low cost, it is a demonstration and benchmark project that integrates China¡äs own technology and promotes green and low-carbon transformation. It is also a leading project in the olefin industry cluster of Korla City. The basic machinery is expected to be completed by 2025 and fully operational by 2026 (excluding LDPE/EVA).
