Inner Mongolia Baofeng¡¯s 3 Million-ton Olefin Project Completed and Put into Operation

Recently, the Inner Mongolia Baofeng¡¯s 3 million-ton olefin project as the world¡äs largest capacity single plant, with a total investment of 48.4 billion yuan, has been officially completed and put into operation in Wushen Banner, Ordos City.
Having gone through a series of processes such as gasification, purification, methanol synthesis, MTO and olefin separation, coal produces industrial masterbatch-olefin products. This will further fill the market gap in our country and enhance our import substitution capability.
After 18 months of intensive construction, the project produces over 4000 tons of olefins per day. Through modern coal chemical technology innovation, the energy consumption of the entire system has been reduced by nearly 20% on the current basis. All equipment and devices used in the project are independently manufactured in China, achieving import substitution. Among them, 23 key core equipment have reached the international top level. We have achieved five global largest single production capacities for gasification, purification, methanol synthesis, full density polyethylene, and methanol to olefin separation coupled steam cracking units, as well as three national largest single production capacities for DMTO, polypropylene, and air separation units, injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of China¡äs equipment manufacturing industry.
