Newly Signed 100,000-ton Epichlorohydrin Project

On February 27, the signing ceremony of the "Procurement Project of the Process Package for a 100,000-ton Per Annum Epichlorohydrin Plant" was held among the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shaanxi Yuneng Energy Chemical New Materials Co., Ltd., and Binhua Technology Co., Ltd.
The cooperation of this project has realized the synergy of the advantages and the complementary of resources among the three parties, and has also created a new cooperation model among a national scientific research institution, a large state-owned enterprise, and an advanced private enterprise.
The construction site of this project is located in the Shenmu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Shaanxi Province, with a total investment of approximately 13.2 billion yuan. Relying fully on the existing coal-to-methanol industry and chlor-alkali industry in the park, the company has opened up a new route for epoxy resin. It deeply integrates with the traditional chlor-alkali chemical industry and coal chemical industry to achieve mutual supply of raw materials, and constructs the world¡äs first complete industrial chain project of epoxy resin and its downstream products with coal-based methanol as the source.
The main construction scale and content include: an 800,000-ton per annum methanol-to-propylene (DMTP) plant, a 125,000-ton per annum allyl chloride plant, a 150,000-ton per annum epichlorohydrin plant, a 200,000-ton per annum hydrogen peroxide plant, a 300,000-ton per annum cumene plant, a 350,000-ton per annum phenol and acetone plant, a 240,000-ton per annum bisphenol A plant, a 250,000-ton per annum epoxy resin plant, a 100,000-ton per annum high-salt wastewater purification plant, a 100,000-ton per annum polyolefin elastomer (POE) plant, a 30,000-ton per annum ethylene propylene rubber plant, as well as supporting utility engineering and auxiliary engineering.
