On February 24th, a symposium on trade remedies for the petroleum and chemical industry system was held in Beijing. Wang Zhenfu, Deputy Commissioner of the Trade Remedy Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, and the heads of various departments attended the meeting. Among the participants were leaders of CPCIF, CCAIA, China National Coatings Industry Association, China Association of Fluorine and Silicone Industry. While Vice President Fu Xiangsheng of CPCIF presided over the meeting, each association introduced the trade remedy work in their respective industries and put forward policy recommendations. Zhang Peichao, Vice President and Secretary General of CCAIA, introduced the progress of trade remedy work in the chlor-alkali industry at the meeting. In terms of case response, the industry faces trade barriers for various chlor-alkali products in India. In terms of case appeal, sustained support should be rendered to trade remedies for industry related products so as to maintain the orderly development of international trade. At the same time, it is recommended to provide support for enterprises in the process of "going global" in the industry. Vice Commissioner Wang Zhenfu stated in the meeting summary that he would attach great importance to the opinions and suggestions put forward by various associations, work together with everyone to do a good job in trade relief work, and safeguard industrial interests.
