Promotion of Integrated Wind Solar Hydrogen Production and Green Carbon Reduction Upgrade Project in Inner Mongolia

The Wushenqi¡¯s integrated wind solar hydrogen production and green carbon reduction upgrade project is the first of its kind with such a large-scale in China to couple chlorine, hydrogen, and coal chemical industries. After completion, the project will explore a new demonstration path for the deep coupling of hydrogen renewable energy and coal chemical industry.
On December 18, 2024, the integrated wind solar hydrogen production and green carbon reduction upgrade project of Zhongtian Hechuang Company officially started construction. The main construction content of the project is to fully tap the existing coal to olefin plant and build a new CO cryogenic separation+acetic acid+EVA+VAE+LNG plant, as well as wind and solar power generation to produce green hydrogen. The project is totally invested at 11 billion yuan, expected to be put into operation in 2026 and 2027 respectively. After completion, it will further extend the company¡äs coal chemical circular economy industry chain, realizing the transformation of coal resources from "fuel type" to "raw material type". Moreover, "green hydrogen" will replace "grey hydrogen" in the original process, effectively reducing carbon emissions, promoting the integrated coupling development of traditional synthetic material chemical industry and hydrogen energy industry and forming a new model and path for renewable energy utilization.
