The Project of Fujian Province¡äs Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant Base Officially Commences Construction

On March 28, the groundbreaking ceremony for the project of Fujian Province¡äs Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant Base was held at the Gulei Petrochemical Base in Zhangzhou, marking a crucial advancement in the development of Fujian Province¡äs green hydrogen industry.
Relying on the resource endowment, industrial supporting facilities, and agglomeration advantages of the Gulei Petrochemical Base, the project plans to construct an integrated demonstration system of wind power and hydrogen integration and build a full-chain hydrogen energy detection and verification platform. The aim is to leverage the technological advantages and leading role of local enterprises, universities, and research institutes in the field of hydrogen energy, accelerate the establishment of the demonstration chain of "offshore energy¡ªhydrogen energy storage¡ªapplication of hydrogen-based energy", lay a technical foundation for Fujian Province to carry out the production of hydrogen from offshore wind power in deep seas and its application, provide support for the technological upgrading and iteration of green hydrogen equipment materials, and offer a new direction for the green transformation of the chemical industry.
The implementation and groundbreaking of the green hydrogen pilot plant base project represent a specific practice by Gulei to promote the green transformation of the industry, explore the integrated development of "wind, solar, nuclear, energy storage, and hydrogen", and strive to create the province¡äs first zero-carbon chemical industrial park. Taking this opportunity, the Gulei Development Zone will give full play to the advantages of its offshore wind power resources and the agglomeration of the petrochemical industry, actively extend and develop green industrial chains such as green ammonia, green alcohol, and sustainable aviation fuel downstream. It aims to achieve an energy transition from fossil energy to a multi-energy complementary system of "wind, solar, hydrogen, and energy storage", an industrial transformation from traditional refining and chemical industry to a green and low-carbon chemical industry, and a value transformation from traditional economic development to sustainable circular economic development. With a higher level of ¡±innovation and green energy, it will accelerate the construction of a world-class green ecological petrochemical base.
