Wanhua Chemical¡¯s Ethylene Phase II Project Completed and Put into Operation in Yantai

Recently, according to the announcement from Wanhua Chemical, its 1.2 million tons/year ethylene plant in Yantai Industrial Park successfully produced qualified ethylene products on April 3, 2025, as the second phase of the ethylene project was successfully launched in one go.
This project uses naphtha and ethane as raw materials to form new quality productive forces through optimization of resource allocation so as to enhances the competitiveness and profitability of the industrial chain.
The environmental impact assessment of Wanhua Chemical¡äs 1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end polyolefin project was approved in 2022. Naphtha and ethane are taken as raw materials in the project to produce intermediate products such as ethylene and propylene, mixed C4, and cracked gasoline through cracking. Ethylene is supplied as raw material to downstream POE and LDPE units, while the rest is sent to the park.
