Latest Progress on the Million ton Acetic Acid Project of Xinjiang Zhonghe Hezhong

Recently, it was learned that at the site of the integrated project of acetic acid and its downstream products at Xinjiang Zhonghe Hezhong New Materials Co., Ltd., the project equipment has been put in place, when workers are conducting equipment single machine debugging, pipeline blowing and pressure testing. It is expected that the commissioning test can be achieved by May. After completion, this project will become the first acetic acid production project in Xinjiang with the largest capacity in Northwest China and an annual output of 1 million tons of acetic acid and related products.

Located in the southern circular economy industrial park of Hami High tech Industrial Development Zone, Xinjiang Zhonghe Hezhong New Materials Co., Ltd. will commence construction in May 2023. The project will be developed in two phases. In the first phase, it includes the construction of gasification equipment, purification equipment, carbon monoxide separation equipment, sulfur recovery equipment, annual production of 1 million tons of acetic acid equipment, and annual production of 150,000 tons of acetic anhydride equipment. Integrated storage and transportation, public works, environmental protection engineering, and auxiliary production facilities will also be built.

The 1 million ton carboxylic acid project of Zhonghe Hezhong in Xinjiang uses coal and oxygen as raw materials, pressurized fluidized bed gasification, isothermal sulfur resistant transformation, MDEA desulfurization+fine desulfurization+PSA decarbonization+MDEA mixed decarbonization, cryogenic separation process to produce carbon monoxide, while purchasing methanol externally to produce acetic acid through carbonylation reaction with carbon monoxide. Acetic acid is synthesized using a domestic ultra-low water methanol low-pressure carbonylation process.

The factory¡äs water supply system adopts an integrated process of raw water pretreatment, closed-loop cooling water, desalination station, fire water, sewage treatment and drainage, ultimately achieving the goal of energy saving, water conservation and environmental protection. At present, the main construction of the project has been completed, with the equipment installed in place and entering the final stage of debugging.
