The document points out that the development of the methanol industry should be promoted. Build a national-level methanol economy demonstration zone in Jinzhong City, and comprehensively promote the construction of the methanol fuel production and distribution system. Go all out to promote the construction of the entire industrial chain of "(raw material) production - (automobile, equipment) manufacturing - (integrated) service - (infrastructure) support - (demonstration scenario) application", and create a high-level industrial map of the 100-billion-yuan methanol economy.
By the end of 2025, promote the commissioning of the expansion project of methanol-hydrogen-electric heavy trucks for commercial vehicles, and strive to achieve the cumulative promotion of 10,000 units (sets) of methanol vehicles and methanol equipment. By 2027, further deepen and improve the methanol economy industrial chain, comprehensively enhance the market competitiveness and industrial influence of the methanol economy in Jinzhong, build an economic ecosystem of the whole chain of "vehicles, methanol, transportation, stations, and capture", and highlight the all-round application of methanol in the fields of production and life.
Promote the development of renewable energy industries such as hydrogen energy. Conduct in-depth research on the links of green and low-carbon hydrogen production, storage, transportation, refueling, and application, fully tap the potential of hydrogen production from industrial by-products such as coke oven gas, encourage nearby consumption, and establish a diversified hydrogen energy supply system. Make overall plans for the construction of hydrogen energy infrastructure and create a safe and efficient hydrogen energy supply network. Promote the demonstration application of hydrogen energy in multiple fields such as industry and transportation in an orderly manner. At the same time, encourage the combined production of steel, coking, and chemical industries, explore and promote the large-scale application of hydrogen metallurgy technology with hydrogen as a reducing agent, create demonstration application pilot projects for hydrogen metallurgy, and solve the problem of decarbonization in the metallurgical industry.
