Progress of Shaanxi Hydrogen 30GW/967,900-ton Green Hydrogen Project

2025-4-27

On April 23, the expert review meeting for the feasibility study report of the 30GW new energy green hydrogen production and hydrogen transmission pipeline project (Phase I) was held in Beijing. A top domestic expert team led by Chen Xuedong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and leaders from the Shaanxi Provincial Energy Bureau and relevant departments of Yulin City attended the review.

At the review meeting, the expert group conducted in-depth discussions on the project plan from multiple dimensions, including technical feasibility, design optimization, project safety, economic efficiency, and industrial coordination, and put forward strategic and operational professional suggestions. After the review, the expert group unanimously agreed that the feasibility study report is comprehensive in content, detailed in data, reasonable and feasible in technical route, and passed the review.

Upon completion, the Shaanxi-Inner Mongolia 30GW new energy power generation, energy storage, and green hydrogen production project will form an annual production capacity of 967,900 tons of green hydrogen, supporting the construction of 30 million kilowatts of new energy power generation, 4.5 million kilowatts/18 million kilowatt-hours of energy storage facilities, 60 220kV new energy gathering stations, 15 hydrogen production stations with 220kV substations, 2,572.5 kilometers of 220kV transmission lines, and 409.1 kilometers of hydrogen transmission pipelines. The first-phase 3GW demonstration project is located in Wushenqi and will provide a sufficient hydrogen source for the first cross-provincial green hydrogen transmission pipeline.
