The 2025 National Caustic Soda Technology Annual Conference Kicked off in Nanjing

From June 18th to 20th, the 2025 National Caustic Soda Technology Annual Conference organized by CCAIA kicked off in Nanjing, attended by more than 530 representatives from chlor-alkali producers, scientific research institutions and related equipment service suppliers. This annual meeting focused on industry¡¯s technological innovation and sustainable development, upgrading energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies, utilizing waste salt resources, improving digitalization, efficient development of hydrogen energy, and optimizing energy structure, among other related topics, to conduct in-depth analysis of the opportunities and challenges currently faced by the industry.
Zhang Wenlei, President of CCAIA, delivered a speech introducing the economic operation of the chlor-alkali industry and the key work of the industry. He also proposed work directions for further technical exchanges and innovation in the industry. Yuan Jianhua, Deputy Head of the CCAIA¡äs Caustic Soda Expert Group, delivered a keynote speech on "Technological Innovation Helps Green and High-Quality Development of the Chlor-Alkali Industry". Liu Lei from the Promotion Department of the National Energy Conservation Center gave a special report on "Analysis of the National Energy Conservation Situation and Interpretation of Related Policies". Zhang Peichao, Vice President and Secretary General of CCAIA, Zhang Xin, Vice President , and Li Qiong, Director of the Comprehensive Management Department, respectively gave special reports on the "Development Guidelines for China¡äs Chlor Alkali Industry in the 15th Five Year Plan", "Research and Analysis of Relevant Policies for the Development of China¡äs Chlor Alkali Industry", and "Research on the Current Development Status of China¡äs Caustic Soda and the Development of Chlorine Product System". Leaders from key production companies such as Tianjin Bohua Development, Qingdao Haiwan, Zhejiang Juhua, Shaanxi Jintai, Chiping Xinfa, and Hangzhou Electrochemical exchanged their experiences in standardizing equipment, technological innovation, improving quality and efficiency, energy conservation and carbon reduction and safety and environmental protection. Key equipment suppliers such as Bluestar (Beijing) Chemical Machinery, Hongze (Jiangsu) Technology, Shanghai Huiping (Mengmo Ke), Alfa Laval, Asahi Kasei Co., Ltd., De Nora, and Shanghai Yicheng Chemical exchanged the latest progress in electrolysis equipment, ion membranes, chlorine gas drying, customized chelating resins, and evaporation equipment. China Chengda Engineering, Wuxi Xunjie Guangyuan, Hangzhou Kerui, Shanghai Yaowei, Jiangsu Yimai, and Inspur General Software introduced the latest achievements and applications in energy conservation and carbon reduction, intelligent manufacturing, intelligent detection, innovative processes, and chlorine product development in the industry.
The conference set up a special research topic on waste salt, with He Yi, Deputy Director of the Solid Management Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, giving a special report on "Environmental Risk Control and Resource Utilization of Chemical Waste Salt". NJTECH Environmental Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang Juhua, Befar Group, Anhui Jinxuan and Lanzhou Hewei Environmental Protection introduced the technological progress and operational experience in the comprehensive application of industrial waste salt. Special research on production, teaching, research and application was also included. Deng Dehui, director of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Shao Mingfei, professor of School of Chemistry, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, respectively made theme reports on New Technology for Hydrogen Production from Sea Water/Brine and Green Synthesis of Hydrogen Production from Electrolytic Water. Xinjiang Tianye, Shandong Dongyue, Xinjiang Zhongtai and Qingdao Institute of Energy, Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced the latest achievements of scientific and technological innovation in the industry. Having received 131 papers, the conference organized experts to award them and commended the authors of the first, second, third prizes and excellent awards. The conference was also held alongside with the caustic soda expert group meeting, where Cui Wei, the chief engineer of Shanghai Chlor Alkali, was elected as the new group leader. At the same time as the conference, key enterprise sub venues and exhibition booths were set up for exchange and display of the companies¡¯ key patent achievements.
