Inner Mongolia Jiete Green Energy Technology totally invested 748 million yuan in the resource utilization project of 100,000 tons of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) waste liquid and annual production of 35,000 tons of tetrahydrofuran (THF), which has been completed and is planned to put into trial production by the end of July. After the project is put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual sales revenue of 700 million yuan, a profit and tax of 70 million yuan and provide 100 job opportunities.

This project uses BDO waste liquid produced by BDO manufacturers in and around Wuhai as raw material to prepare high value-added tetrahydrofuran (THF) and high-purity N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) through advanced processes such as classification purification and catalytic cracking, realizing the resource utilization of effective components in BDO industry by-products, providing strong support for the development of circular economy, precise chain extension, supplementation and strengthening in Wuhai while promoting the green and low-carbon development of BDO industry. The company can also save 340,000 tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon emissions by 904,000 tons as it strives to achieve green, low-carbon and circular development.
